Happy monday guys! This last week was the calm before the storm, quiet literally. Although the week was filled with a lot of unexpected surprises, it’s always nice to have a productive week. Every week or two on the blog I’m going to be doing weekly round ups of Instagram, blog posts, purchases / things I’ve been loving, and personal bits from that week as well as an OOTD. So let’s catch up on this past week!
This week on Instagram I posted one of my favorite summer outfits– a mock turtleneck sleeveless dress that is this gorgeous shade of blue. It also is unbelievable soft, making it perfect for casual days at home. I always find myself going through photos from past vacations, and this one of lake crescent is one of my favorites. I’ve already started looking into places to go next year, but I might have to make my way back there soon. There’s also a look at one of my favoritefall sweaters and a photo of this outfit that didn’t make it into the post, so if you haven’t’ seen them you can give them a look here!
ON THE BLOG
Since I just got back into posting more regularly on the blog, there have been two posts this past week. I wrote about how I manage online college classes and share my 7 tips for staying organized and on schedule. I’ve been taking all online classes for a year now, so through trial and error I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. There’s also an OOTD poston a pinafore dress that’s perfect for the upcoming fall weather. If you’re like me and you’ve been looking for one, make sure to give it a read!
The past few months I’ve tried to keep my shopping to a minimum, but since fall is my favorite season for clothing I couldn’t help myself from making a few purchases this week. ThissweaterI ordered looks like the perfect oversized sweater for cooler days, and the colors go together beautifully. I also got thisgrey mock turtleneck dress that I’m excited to style for fall. The last thing I picked up is this embroidered t-shirt that I’ve been eyeing for awhile, and it just went on sale so it seemed the perfect time to buy it. If you’re looking for a few new pieces for fall, definitely give H&M’s website a look.
This past week was gloomy, and mainly spent working on school work. A big storm was coming this weekend, and while taking these outfit photos we just missed it by a few minutes. On Friday I took the 3 hour drive to Ikea with my mom to buy some furniture for my room. My plan was to make my bedroom in my parents house into a mini studio apartment, minus the kitchen, and it turned out better then I expected! There will be a post this week on some inexpensive ways to update your bedroom, so make sure to be on the lookout for that. Although I love Ikea, driving home was less then fun. We got caught in the storm and although it was hard to see most of the ride, there’s nothing Adele’s new album and a laugh can’t fix.
Since summer is coming to end, I’ve been trying to get the most out of my summer clothes. I usually wear a dress at least once a week, and this one from The Loft is one of my favorites! It’s a midi dress, so it’s perfect for my 5’3 frame. Just incased it rained I wore my denim jacket since it goes with everything, and some white Gap sneakers to match the pattern of the dress. Although I will miss being able to wear dresses without jackets, I cannot wait for sweater and jeans weather.
And that’s it! Hope you have a wonderful week and to stay up to date with my posts make sure to follow me on twitter, bloglovin, or just pop your email into the little box on the side under stay connected. There will be more lifestyle and fashion posts coming this week, so be on the lookout for them!
