Christmas gift guide: 10 Small Items

Christmas is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to start thinking about gifts for loved ones. I personally love buying gifts for others, as there’s no better feeling than seeing someone thrilled over what you got them. I know it can be a bit stressful for some, so I thought I would put together a little Christmas gift guide! Keep reading to see 10 small items that are perfect gifts to give this season.

Magazines are a great gift idea since there are a wide variety of genres to choose from that can fit each person’s different style. Kinfolk magazine is one of my favorite magazines, from the beautiful photography to the well put together articles. Every magazine has a different topic, so picking one to fit who you are buying for is simple. Their three latest magazine topics are travel, home, and work and entrepreneurial spirit, so have a mini flip through each to see which one would is best!

Journals are great for keeping a daily planner, to-do lists, or just to jot down any thoughts or doodles throughout the day. Moleskine makes great minimal journals, and they have a variety of sizes and page types. They’re perfect for anyone in your life who is in school, running a business, or someone who takes on a lot of tasks daily! You can even add in some pens to go with the journal.

For the plant lover in your life a small plant can be the perfect gift. Plants add life to any room, and it’s something they can use for months to come. Ikea is one of my favorite places to buy plants, as they tend to be more on the affordable side. Just make sure to research how much sunlight and water the plant will need before you buy it, so you can make sure it matches who you’re buying it for’s lifestyle!

When it comes to gifting makeup, I always try to stick with eyeshadow. It’s rare that you’ll get someone the same color they already have, and it’s something they can switch up every day. This one from Soap & Glory is the perfect compact eye shadow palette, with three matte shades and 3 shimmery shades. Just be sure to pick one with shades similar to ones you usually see them wear, and you’ll be good to go!

For the skincare / makeup lover in your life, Glossier is the perfect brand. Not only is the packaging adorable, but the products and customer service are just as great! Although they mainly focus on skincare, they do have a few makeup products. If you’re on more of a budget I would definitely recommend the balm dotcom. It’s an amazing skin salve that can be used on lips, cuticles, or any other dry patches. It’s a life saver during the winter months. If I had to pick one item from Glossier that is their best, this one is it! If you want to spend a bit more, the moisturizing moon mask is perfect for anyone with dry skin, and is a refreshing way for anyone to start their day. Or, you could always get them three of Glossier’s staple pink pouches that are great for storing makeup or can be used as a clutch!

Now if you don’t want to take the risk of getting the wrong makeup or skincare product, makeup brushes are a great alternative. Noone can have too many brushes, and Real Techniques does a wide variety of amazing brushes! You can even get a kit of three or four brushes ranging from face and eyeshadow to multi-use. If you’re looking for slightly less expensive brush kits, Eco Tools also does great quality brushes in kits. You really can’t go wrong with some makeup brushes!

When it comes to clothing I try to always avoid anything that has a size, as it can be very easy to get the wrong one. That’s why when it comes to clothing gifts hats and scarfs are great! A person can never have too many scarfs, and blanket scarfs are perfect for keeping someone warm.  H&M has a wide variety of colors and patterns to choose from, and you can even pick one up for yourself while you’re there!

A great fashion gift to give someone is a pair of glasses. Now normally I would say this can be very tricky when it comes to picking the right style, but EyebuyDirect is the perfect site when it comes to this! They have both non-perescription and prescription glasses, and you can upload a photo of who you’re buying for and see how each style would look on them. With frames from as low as 6 dollars, it can be a fun, unconventional gift to give this season!

If you’re still not 100% sure what to get someone, a personalized home made gift card is a perfect option! You can make one for a little brunch day out at a place of their choosing, or a mini spa day. It’s a more personalized way of giving a gift card and you don’t have to worry about running out to the store to get one.

Hope these 10 gifts ideas helped you with your gift buying this season, and let me know what your go-to gift for others is!
