I know it’s hard to believe that 2017 is right around the corner, but that means it’s time to start reflecting on the past year and thinking about the new one. Although I’m usually not one for new years resolutions, I do like to make a list of goals I want to achieve each year. I thought I would share with you some things to remind yourself when you start setting your goals for the new year as well as a new years eve OOTD!
There have been plenty of time where I’ve come up with a goal in my head and thought “is that really possible?” Now it’s still important to challenge and push yourself, but make sure you’re also being realistic with creating your goals. One of my goals for 2017 is to grow my Instagram. I know that at this point 5,000 would be unrealistic, but 1,000 is an amount I can work towards. Give yourself enough room to push yourself without it being out of reach.
If it comes to the point where you couldn’t reach that particular goal, that’s okay! Just remember that every little bit helps and set yourself a new one. All that matters it that you grew and learned from it, and that something better was meant to happen.
Instead of looking at each goal as something you must complete, think of each goal as a stepping stone to getting to where you want to be. It’s easier to make smaller steps than to try and take one big leap. Eventually you’ll get to where you’re meant to be.
Something most people forget to remind themselves is that yourself comes first. When setting goals this year ask yourself if it is something you personally want, and how it will benefit you. Look after yourself this year and stop frequently to ask yourself those two questions. After all, you have to take care of yourself first before you can help others.
Although it’s easy to get caught up in the whole picture, reward yourself throughout the year for even your smallest accomplishments. Nothing is ever too little to celebrate and it can make reaching your goals that much more enjoyable!
Most new year’s eves have been spent in a comfy sweater and jeans and all things glitter have been avoided. But this year when I saw this bodysuit from H&M I knew it would be the perfect piece to wear. I love the contrast of the high neck and the cut out of the back. Instead of a skirt I opted for my black high-waisted skinny jeans from the Gap to keep me warm, and these slide on loafers to keep my feet comfortable when walking around tonight. Although it will be a more relaxed evening, I still excited for all it has to bring.
And that’s it! I want to say a massive thank you to all of you for your love and support these past few months. I can’t wait to see what the new year has to offer. Also let me know what your goals for 2017 are!
