Weekend in Charleston: OOTD + Weekly Round-Up

Hi guys! This past weekend I took a little trip to Charleston as a start to my winter break. From the beautiful buildings to the small shops, it was a great break before the hectic Christmas season. It’s been a little while since I’ve done a weekly round-up, so lets get on into this week!

As always, more posts went up on the blog these past two weeks. My love for Instagram has grown, and over the past few months I’ve figured out what hashtags work best so I thought I would share them with you. In my Instagram hashtag guide post I share with you 5 different categories of hashtags to use to get your posts seen! This season I’ve been trying to step away from my usual sweater and jeans, and one of the outfits I’ve been loving lately is this one on the blog! I’ve always had more of a minimal style, and I love mixing casual and more polished items together in an outfit.

Christmas is only 12 days away which means it’s time to finish any last minute gift shopping. To make it easier for you I put together a Christmas gift guide of 10 small items! With everything from beauty to magazines, there is sure to be something for everyone on your list. With the holidays and work, days now tend to get more busy and stressful. Everyone should take some time to themselves everyday, so to help I wrote a post on 5 ways to unwind after a long work day! Grab a cup of tea and be sure to go have a read!

I love sharing little looks into my daily life with you guys, and this winter I’ve been trying to start my mornings with a bit more me time. On this particular morning I treated myself to a hot chocolate before starting my work day. I’ve also been slowly starting to decorate my room, and I love how cozy my workspace looks! I’ll hopefully be adding more decorations to my room over the next week, and I’ll be sure to share it with you on my Instagram. If you’ve seen my latest OOTD post, I recently discovered Eyebuydirect and this pair of glasses are my favorite to wear right now.

I love when it comes time to bring out the Christmas sweaters, and this adorable one is my new favorite. This past weekend I went away to Charleston and fell in love with the city. This one building is just a small glance at the beautiful buildings. And last but not least a little look at my travel essentials, which include this gorgeous coat I picked up from H&M this weekend.

These past two weeks have been filled with studying and exams, so whenever I had any free time it would be spent blogging, Christmas planning and watching some Netflix. I recently discovered the show Skin Wars, which is a competition on body painting, and was instantly drawn in. It’s always interesting to see other forms of art and I tend to get a bit too into the competition. My Moleskine grid notebook has been a real life saver this month. From exams to Christmas gift planning, it’s been a great tool for keeping me organized. And of course this past week has been filled with listening to lots of Christmas songs to get in the spirit!

This past weekend I went on a little trip to Charleston for my dads birthday and fell in love with the city. The architecture is beautiful and the people are all so friendly. If you ever get a chance to go definitely take a walk on King Street and go down to the water. It was also one of the few trips that we could bring my dog along, and as a dog mom it’s always so nice to watch my dog experience a new place. It was a great way to start my holiday break and I’m already starting to plan my next trip back. I also over the past few weeks have been thinking of new content for the blog and the direction I want it to go in. I’m excited for what 2017 has in store!

Monki has become one of my favorite brands this winter. This neutral striped dress is perfect for layering over black jeans and the pockets are an added bonus. When I saw this eye beanie on ASOS I was in love, and it was perfect for keeping me warm while walking around Charleston! When packing for my trip I grabbed my combat boots that I haven’t worn in a few years and I’m glad I did. Not only are they comfortable but I love the look they add to any outfit. My go to coat for my trip was this oversized black one from H&M that dresses up any look. And I of course couldn’t help but add my little fluff ball into a photo.

And that is my OOTD + Weekly round-up from my weekend in Charleston. Let me know where your favorite place to travel for a long weekend is!
