Happy weekend! Temperatures are dropping and life is back in full swing. As always I recapped with you my past few weeks and share one of my favorite OOTD’S. So to see what posts went up on the blog, what goals I’ll be setting this year, and my new favorite little black dress- just keep on reading!
4 new posts went up on the blog this week friends!
Tips for setting goals this new year + OOTD: Instead of new years resolutions I think it’s a better idea to set yourself some goals for each year. Although it can be a bit overwhelming making goals that are realistic but also challenge you, it can be done! I shared some things to keep in mind when you are setting goals this year + a look at my new years eve OOTD, which surprisingly included some glitter.
Blogging in the new year tips: It’s always good to every once and a while take a look at your blogging strategy and make changes. I find the beginning of the year to be a great time to get ahead, and think of the direction you want your blog to go in. Be sure to give the post a read to see some tips to help towards growing your blog and reaching your blogging goals!
Top 5 outfit posts of 2016: Quite a few outfit posts went up on the blog in 2016, and to make it easier for you I rounded up the top 5! Have a browse to see which 5 were your guys favorite.
A look in a bloggers purse: I always find it interesting to take a peek at what others carry with them on a daily basis, so I thought I would show you a look inside my purse as a blogger! I’ve tried to cut down on what I bring with me and keep it more minimal. Head on over to have a look and let me know what the one item you can’t leave the house without is!
As always I’ve been a bit snap happy on Instagram. I normally don’t post shots of my shoes, but this one of these Adidas sneakers is one of my favorites. I love the colors and how there is a peek at the design on my leggings. This shot was to announce something that I had been working on for a few days, which I will talk more about in the personal section! This deep cutout of the back of this jumpsuit is from my new years eve OOTD. I’ve always been someone who prefers showing more skin on my back than on my front, and that still hasn’t changed.
To be a bit more organized this year I bought myself some planning stationary at Target to help. So far it’s has kept me organized. I’ve also been trying to add some more color to my winter wardrobe and this red sweater has become one of my favorite sweaters I own. Last weekend I made the drive to Ikea to pick up a few things, including this tray and mug. They were perfect for getting cozy right before the small snow storm came. And with the storm came single digit temperatures, which made me miss the slightly warmer days and blue skies. And last but certainly not least is this shot that will be in my next blog post (for all you fashion bloggers). This shade of lipstick has become my new favorite for the winter time and I love how it contrasts with the gray scarf!
I am a total bookworm, but sadly for the past few months between college and blogging I’ve haven’t had the time to read. During Christmas break I began reading again, and although there is nothing like having a physical copy of a book, I love using Wattpad to read. Wattpad allows writers to write books and publish them on the site. Although you do have to do some searching to find the best books, it’s worth it in the end. I would also recommend only reading books that have been finished, so this way you don’t have to wait for them to upload any chapters! I’ve also been loving this carafe from Ikea. It allows me to have a large amount of water by my workspace and it’s been helping me hydrate more.
I don’t think I ever talked about it before, but to address the obvious I moved my blog! I finally bite the bullet and made the move from Blogger to self hosted and I couldn’t be happier. With that also came a new blog design which I am in love with. Moving has made blogging easier and more enjoyable for me. If you are thinking of doing the same I would definitely recommend you do, and feel free to contact me if you want any advice!
College has begun again and it’s been a lot of managing my time wisely. I’m trying some new things this semester with taking some web classes and I”m excited to see how it goes! I’ve also been writing up my goals for both my blog and personal ones for this year. 2017 is the year I’m going to kick some old habits to the curb and start thinking more in terms of my blogging strategy and what actions I have to take to get where I want to be. Here is a look at my goals!:
Although it is winter I still like to bring out a dress every once and a while. This flounced sleeve one from H&M is the perfect little black dress. The sleeves add the perfect amount of detail, and to add a bit more to the dress I added my new favorite pair of polka-dot tights. It’s something I’ve been seeing a lot on Instagram that I have fallen in love with. I don’t wear much jewelry except for earrings, so instead of a necklace I tied a blue bandana around my neck. I find bandanas are perfect to wear as necklaces, bracelets, or even tied to a purse!
Hope you enjoyed this weeks weekly round-up, and I’d love to know what some of your goals for this year are!
