Blogging In The New Year Tips

Happy Tuesday friends! I wrote all about things to keep in mind when setting goals this new year in my last post, and I thought I would write one for you bloggers. The new year can be the perfect time to reevaluate your blog and work towards growing it even more. I put together some tips to help you with reaching your blogging goals this year, so lets get right into it!

Staying on top of posts can be a real lifesaver in the future. Before the beginning of each month start planning all of your posts for the upcoming month. Knowing what posts you’re going to put up on which dates can help you stay on top of posting and make your blog more consistent. I personally use my Apple calendar on my computer to plan out my posts, as it’s easy to view and I can color code them based on categories. Use whatever method that works best for you, and also try to have at least one-two posts done ahead of time. Do this every month and it’ll make sticking to a schedule that much easier!

Giving your blog a whole new look can help both motivate you and give your blog a fresh start! It doesn’t have to be anything drastic. You can give your blog a whole new look with a new template, or you can simply clean it up by removing any widgets or plugins that you don’t use. If you’re going to get a new template I would definitely recommend giving Esty a browse. Find one that fits your brand and make sure it has everything you need.

Taking the time to get a better understanding of how to use different social media sites can help with getting your blog out there this year. Take the time to research how other bloggers use different sites to attract readers and start trying some of them for yourself. This will help grow your social media presence and find some loyal blog readers.

Look at what you posted this past year on your blog. What topics made you excited to blog and which ones were you less than pleased about? Now is the perfect time to remove topics and to add any new ones! Just stick to 4-5 different categories to focus on and you’ll be good to go.

It’s very easy to get caught up in the stress and hecticness of blogging, but make sure to just have fun with it this new year! Focus on blogging about topics that make you happy and the rest with fall into place.

Hope you found these tips helpful and remember that you can do anything you put your mind to!

Planning ahead is something I still have to learn. I’m more the last-minute kind of girl. I just gave my blog a new look and it does indeed give extra motivation!

It’s something I’ve been trying to do these past few weeks over the holiday break. Sometimes the best inspiration comes at the last minute though!
