I’ve been blogging regularly for around 8 months now, and I always try to share little bits into my life and who I am. If you have read my about page, you’ll already know a bit about me and why I started my blog. To get to know me better, I thought I would share with you 10 fun facts about me! Everything from my weird phobia to things I can’t help doing, so here they are!
Green tea is my absolute favorite flavor of ice cream. I use to be a chocolate peanut butter lover, but ever since I tried green tea ice cream at a local Japanese restaurant I have been in love. It sadly is very hard to get, but whenever it is an option I always pick it. Luckily for me just recently Haagen-Dazs starting making it so I now can have it at home! Lets just say the day I found it in the store I did my own happy dance.
Growing up, and still to this day, I will knock over any cup of liquid multiple times a week. If there is a liquid in sight, I will nine times out of ten spill it. It became such a common thing for me to do that whenever anyone spills something, my family refers to it as “pulling a Kara.”
No one in my family can pin point when exactly I got this phobia, as I never had it as a young child, but the phobia I have is venephobia. This is the fear of veins. I have never met anyone else in my life who has it, and for a while my family was convinced it wasn’t an actually phobia until we looked it up. I can’t really talk about them or look at them, which is a bit hard in everyday life but I’ve gotten so use to it that it’s not too hard to live with. I also don’t do well with any medical things.
When I was younger, in middle school and high school, I use to always ask my mom if I could die my hair. Her answer would always be the same: “God gave you the perfect hair color that suits you. As long as you live in my house you can’t die your hair.” Now at the time I use to be so mad that I couldn’t die my hair like everyone else. But now looking back on it I’m glad I couldn’t because of some of the color choices I thought would be good. So I have never died my hair, and there is a 99.9% chance I never will!
Although I don’t think anyone thinks I’m tall, I don’t believe I’ve ever shared my height before. I am 5’3, which is actually pretty tall in my family when it comes to women. This also doesn’t help with the fact that this + my younger looking face makes everyone think I’m 14/15, when in fact in 6 months I’ll be 21.
I am a massive dog lover. I have a 10 pound Bichon named Sami who is the love of my life. I have always loved dogs since the time I was little, but sadly since my brother is allergic we had to spend time finding a breed he wasn’t too allergic to. You’ll always know when I see a dog because it will always be followed with “oh my god, so cute!”
Most people when they meet me think I’m shy. And I am a bit, but I’m actually an observer. Chances are if I’m quiet, the reason is I’m observing how people are acting. I’ve found that people will tell you who they are without saying too much.
When I was younger I was the try every hobby type of kid. I would never stick with one hobby for too long and would move on to another one. I’ve tried everything from dancing, gymnastics, figure skating, cross country running, theater and more! I always use to say that since I don’t have forever I want to try everything while I still can. I still do like to try new things, however luckily I’ve found some things I love doing and have stuck to them!
I am a very sarcastic person. It’s a part of my daily life and I often have to stop myself from using it too often!
Now I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I hate turkey, carrots, and watermelon. The smell of both watermelon and turkey make me extremely nauseous. With watermelon I cannot be in the same room with it, and for turkey if it’s being cooked I can’t be in the house. Thanksgiving was always a “joy” for me as a kid, but luckily now I’ve convinced my family to skip on the turkey. I have tried carrots before and never liked them, so I always have to remind myself whenever I’m eating out to ask for things without carrots.
And those are ten fun facts about me! Hope you enjoyed getting a better look at who I am, and I’d love to know one fun fact about you in the comments! x
