New In Beauty: NudeStix Review

I am all for discovering new makeup brands, and when I find a new one I become a kid in a candy store. While shopping at Ulta a few weekends ago on the hunt for a good red lip, I discovered the display for NudeStix and it instantly caught my eye. I had never heard of the brand before and the packaging is what drew me to it at first. I naturally started swatching everything and had to make myself walk away with only 4 products. I put together a review of the four products I got- everything from brows to a red lip, so to see what I think keep on reading!

To give a little background on the brand, it was created by two sisters and their mom in 2014. All of their products are makeup crayons with the goal of giving you a fresh faced look without covering up with tons of makeup. All of their products have no preservatives, parabens, or gluten, and are all cruelty free! Each product comes with its own black case with a mirror on the back of the top and a sharpener if needed. Out of the products I’m talking about today everything is vegan and certified USDA organic except for the lip pencil.

Concealer Pencil in Light 1

As someone who is very pale, I find it hard to find a concealer that is light enough without being orange + gives me good coverage. When I saw this concealer pencil I was a bit worried since pencils are usually drying and don’t blend well. This one has completely changed my view on them. It glides on like a dream (spoiler- every product from this brand does) and it’s a breeze to blend. I use it under my eyes, on my nose, and anywhere else I get redness or have any blemishes and it actually covers! All you have to do is draw over where you want the concealer to be, dab with your finger to blend it in, and you are good to go! It’s perfect if you have dry or oily skin and comes in a decent range of colors.

Eyebrow Stylus Pencil & Gel in Ash Brown

I have a love-hate relationship when it comes to eyebrow pencils. They usually are hard to use to get a natural look and finding one that didn’t have a warm/red undertone has been a challenge for me. I decided to give this one a try and it has changed my brows. It’s easy to get short, natural looking strokes that fill in your brows without making them look too filled in (unless that’s the look you are going for). The color blends in with my eyebrows perfectly and if you make any mistakes it’s easy to smudge it away. I personally am not a fan of the gel as it leaves my brows feeling stiff, but I would definitely suggest trying it for the pencil!

Magnetic Matte Eye Color in Taupe & Fig

I picked up these eye shadow pencils in neutral brown shades to use as an all over eye and crease color. Just like everything else it applies and blends like a dream. I use taupe all over my eye lid and blend it out with either my fingers or an eyeshadow brush. I then apply a bit more of taupe or fig in the crease to darken it up. This product is perfect for days where you want to wear eyeshadow but don’t have the time for too much blending or applying multiple shadows. I have extremely oily eyeshadow, so it does crease by the end of a really long day. If you’re someone who loves eyeshadow without all the time and fuss, this is the product for you!

Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil in Royal

As I said earlier I was on the hunt for a red lip and when I saw this color I was instantly intrigued. When I swatched it it glided on smoothly and didn’t seem like it would dry out my lips too much even though it is matte. I wore this color for the whole day of my brothers graduation, through dinner and a three hour ceremony, and I am please and shocked to stay it actually lasted! It stayed on my lips the whole day and I only had to do a touch up after I ate, but that was only because I wanted too, not that I had too. It didn’t leave my lips feeling overly dried, however at the end of the day I did apply some Glossier Balmdotcalm just to nourish my lips a little since I’m not use to wearing matte lipstick.

The color pay off is amazing and the red shade was perfect for my skin tone. Because it is a bigger pencil, I would highly suggest getting a lip brush to apply it. This allows you to line your lips with it and build up to the color you want. I personally use a $3 retractable one from ELF and it works great. I wouldn’t necessarily use this color on my cheeks, so I can’t tell you how it would work as a blush. This is now my go-to red lip and I’m excited to try more lip pencils from them!

It’s safe to say I am in love with every product I picked up, and that I have found one of my new favorite makeup brands. I hope you found this review helpful! Let me know if you have ever heard of this brand and if you have tried their products what you thought of them!
