My Summer Daily Routine As A Blogger

Now that it is summer and I’ve been off from college for over a month, my daily routine as a blogger has changed. With no assignments to do or papers to write I have more time for creating and spending time outside. I still have my part time job, but I thought I would give you a look at my summer daily routine as a blogger! I find it can be hard to have a lot of time off, but so far I’ve managed staying on top of everything and keeping myself productive. Here is what a typical summer day looks like for me!

7:30 am

I try to wake up between 7 and 7:30 every day depending on when I go to bed. There will be days where I give myself till 8 to sleep in but I try to always be awake the latest 7:30. I find getting up early allows me to get more done throughout the day. I like to sit on my love seat in my room in the morning and do a little reading and scroll through social media to see the news and have a catch up from the day before.

8:30 am

A few times a week I will go walking with my mom in the mornings. I find it’s a great way to get some fresh air and although I’m never thrilled to be doing it, I know it’s whats best for my body. If I don’t go for a walk, this is usually when I start to get ready. I do my makeup by my bathroom window and catch up on youtube videos. I then get dresses and do a bit of organizing of my space before I leave.

10:00 am

I eat breakfast after getting ready and that’s when I bring out the laptop. I go through and check all my emails, read a few fellow bloggers blog posts, and go through Instagram. I also try to have a cup of tea every morning, although sometimes I do need the extra push from a cup of coffee.

11:00 am

I try to start working on any blog work before 12, although this doesn’t always happen. On ideal days I start typing up any posts, working on my blogging calendar, and sorting through photos. Now that I have started posting videos to my youtube channel again I will also do any video editing or planning. I’m the type of person who likes to plan projects and posts out before hand. I also will schedule any tweets of posts for when I am busy or out of the house. I find using TweetDeck to be any easy way for me to keep up with my Twitter throughout my day.

12:30 pm

I always try to give myself 30 minutes off the computer for lunch. I usually will read or listen to music, although there are times where I’ll mindlessly scroll through social media. Because my job is part time and online, I don’t spend every day working. If I do have any work to do I will do it after my lunch. For all those wondering, I work as a bookkeeper for a local yoga school and I love it! I have learned some valuable skills for both working in the future and my personal life.

2:00 pm

This is usually my photo time for blog posts. As I talked about in my blogging equipment post, my mom takes all of my outfit photos and luckily for me she usually has most afternoons off because of her job. If I do need outfit photos done I will go into the city and take outfit photos, and depending on the day we will treat ourselves to some pastries from a local bakery. If I need to take other photos I will do them myself in my space. I try to wait till there is the most sunlight, although I try to have all photos done by 4.

4:00 pm

When I get home or I am done taking photos this is when I like to take my work outside. I have created myself a little cozy workspace outside where as I talked about in my summer goals + ootd post, I’ve been trying to get outside more and so far so good! I will finish writing up any posts, import photos, and post on Instagram. I also will at this time start working on practicing any coding I’m doing or learning how to use Lightroom & Photoshop.

7:00 pm

By this time it is sadly too dark to still be outside, so I usually will call it the end of my workday and go in. Every night I have dinner with my family and then if I have any errands or shopping that needs to be done I usually do it then unless the place is closed and then I do it easier in the day. I’m one of those people who likes to go out at night and do any shopping. If I’m not going out I will spend some time with my family and catch up with the news for the day.

9:30 pm

I shower at night, so I try to always be done before 10. After wards I will go through Instagram again and respond to any comments from my post. I will also do a bit more work on any last minute things for my blog or job.

11:00 pm

And then its the end of the day! I spend too much time at night reading, but I always try to call it a night before 12:30. I’m trying to get myself to bed a bit earlier but I figure since I am off from college I might as well treat myself to some late night reads.

And that is a typical summer day for me! It of course does change from day to day, but this is the closest to what my days typically look like. Hope you enjoyed this look at my summer days, and let me know what you’re summer days look like!
