My Positivity Project: 7 Things I Love About My Face

Over the past year I’ve made it a priority to start thinking more positive in life. It’s been said that if you think about things in a more positive light (the power of positive thinking), overall your life will be better. I’m a firm believer that in life we are all handed a deck of cards. And it’s not who has the best cards, but who does the best with the cards they have that has a happy, content life.

Since there is a lack of looking at things positively in life and online since most things we focus on as a society is the negative, I thought I would start on my blog & youtube a little thing I like to call my positivity project. Every month I will share a post with some positivity, whether about body image, life, or anything in between! This first one is all about my face. I struggled with acne and how I looked when I was a teenager. But over the years I’ve started to look at the things I love about my face. I thought I would share with you 7 things I love about my face, with no makeup on at all.

My Face Shape

Growing up I had a very round face that I wasn’t too fond of. But over the years my face has become more square and I love the shape of it.

When I was born I had blue eyes and at the age of 7 they turned to green. I have always loved having green eyes since green is one of my favorite colors. It’s also the eye color the least amount of people have, although I honestly love any color of eyes. Having green eyes allows me to wear bronze/brown eye makeup, which I love to wear.

Beauty Mark

You probably never noticed but under my left eye I have a beauty mark. It’s been there since I was a child and my mom actually has the same one under her eye. When I was younger she would always point to mine and tell me that it was a beauty mark and that I had it because I was beautiful. Whenever I look in the mirror and see it I think back to when I was a kid.

My Nose

I’m not a huge lover of noses (who is), but the reason I love mine is because it is the same exact nose as my mom’s. When you look at the two of us you can tell that we’re related because of the nose.

My Mouth & My Smile

For a period of time when I was younger I refused to smile with my teeth. I’m not a hundred percent sure why, but now I’ve grown to love my smile.

I’ve been very blessed with good hair and although it might not be my “face”, it’s still something that I love. My hair I actually get from my Grandma. You might not be able to tell but I actually have a lot of hair, to the point where I have to get it thinned out when I get my hair cut. Although this makes it hard to put it up, I still love the color and texture of my hair.

My Ears

All throughout high school I would very rarely wear my hair up because I hated how my ears stick out. They still stick out and always will, but over the years I’ve learned to embrace it. After all, how else would I put all of my hair behind it?!

And those are the 7 things I love about my face. I would love to know the things you love about your face, so let me know by leaving a comment. And remember that your body is your home and you only have one, so love it!

Being confident in the skin you are in is so important! And writing down attributes that you like are a good way to become more confident. I love all my features in my face. But its has taken a while to get there. But the older I get the more confident in my own skin I get!

  3. This is such a beautiful post =o) I loved reading such a positive post about themselves. Today it seems like everyone is comparing themselves to each other on social media and being negative. Your post was refreshing to read =o)

I absolutely loved reading this post! I also grew up with a lot of face/body image issues and we all know it can effect something even as they grew into an adult. I think you creating this series is genus because we all need that reminder to love ourselves and appropriate what we were born with. It’s interesting that you pointed out your ears because I’ve never thought it them much lol. I never thought I’d say this but ears are interesting and beautiful after all!
