As many of you know from my studio apartment tour blog post, last year I turned my bedroom into a “studio apartment”. Since then I haven’t really changed the decor, except for adding a few new pieces. With my favorite season fall now being here, I decided to give my space a new look. I’ve been loving adding a bit more color this season, which shows in my decor. So here is a look at newly decorated space for fall & winter!
I always love inspirational quotes, so when I saw this poster at IKEA it was love at first sight. I placed it on the wall closest to my door, so every time I leave I can see this reminder.
I knew I wanted to change my bedding since I find that is the easiest way to give a space a new look and feel. Since I have a duvet from IKEA I browsed through their other covers and loved this blue & white striped one. It gives a lighter feeling to the room than my other duvet cover. This red blanket is from Target and I love how well it goes with the blue.
Adding new pillows was also on my list of decor items. I knew I wanted to add something that complemented the blue of the duvet. These dark blue “velvet” pillows were the perfect touch, and they go so well with the other 3 pillows I already had.
I got this side table from my last trip to IKEA, and although I loved the storage I wasn’t sure what to do with it. It was only when I started running out of space for my books did I think of an idea. I love how to books look in it and it gives me a place to keep them.
And of course more books were added to my IKEA selves since I started reading for my fall book recommendations post. And I finally added this monstera plant print to my wall that is of course also from IKEA.
My favorite colors this year for fall are navy and dark blues, red, and yellow. This yellow pillow adds a pop of color to my neutral living space, and it contrasts so nicely with the gray, black, and white. And even though it’s not technically home decor, this dotted mug is a new favorite of mine.
And that is a look at my new home decor for the fall & winter season! I hope you enjoyed, and let me know what decor for fall you have been loving.
