Philadelphia Photo Travel Diary

This past Monday I took a drive to spend my 21st birthday in Philadelphia with my family. I went there last year for my birthday and loved it. We stayed until Thursday, so I had two full days to explore. Of course there was lots and lots of photo taking, so I thought I would share with you a look at my trip to Philly in photos!

On my birthday, October 17th, we had a relaxed day walking around the city and doing some shopping. I went to my favorite store Uniqlo since they don’t have one where I live, and spent the rest of the day with no destination. With all the beautiful architecture it was easy to find many places to take photos.

I would definitely suggest visiting Philadelphia city hall. It is one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen.

It was a bit chilly on this day so I jumped at the chance to wear my favorite new yellow sweater from H&M. I always want to be as comfortable as possible on days where I’m walking around a city. This outfit was perfect for keeping me warm. I paired the sweater with my favorite pair of black pants from ASOS and this burgundy coat that is also from ASOS. And I just so happened to bring my Vans in a matching color, which was not planned.

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a photo of this building because of the guy in the window. If you look closely you can see a guy who just sits by his window and watches the city life go by.

After exploring that one section of Philly we went over near Independence Hall and walked around there for a little bit before dinner. We went to this Italian restaurant names Spasso Italian Grill, which has the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Last year we ate there and it was so good we had to go back. After that it was back to our place to have some cake.

Our second day there we went to tour Independence Hall, which if you’ve never been I would highly recommend. It’s free, however you want to reserve tickets (which costs about $1.50 a ticket) to ensure that you get in. It was such a fascinating experience and interesting to see where all this US history occurred.

On the 2nd day I wore a minimal outfit that would be good for the slightly warmer weather. This “leather” jacket is from Uniqlo, and I love that it’s not cropped. I paired it with the same ASOS pants as the day before, and this black turtleneck from ASOS. And to add some color I wore my Adidas sneakers that are the perfect shoes for lots of city walking.

And that is a look at my mini trip to Philly! Have you ever been to Philly? If not let me know your favorite place to go for mini weekend trips.

After seeing your photos of Philly, I want to go so badly! Btw, I’m so glad you had a wonderful birthday there! I’ve never gone somewhere for my birthday because mine is in summer and everything costs more, but I never thought about taking a road trip so that could be a great idea actually. I also love Uniqlo and that jacket is perfect on you! I’m also jealous about how flawless your hairstyle is <3
