5 Reasons You Should Start A Blog Today

Before starting my blog I kept on going back and forth debating with myself. I wasn’t sure if I could actually do it, what benefits it would have, and if anyone would read it. Now after a year of blogging I am so glad I created one. It has helped me grow as a person and is the perfect way to spend my extra time. It can be hard work, but overall the benefits outweigh the hardships. So if you’ve been thinking about creating one, here are 5 reasons why you should start a blog today!

Amazing Creative Outlet

A blog can be the perfect place to get out and share your creativity. There are no rules with having a blog, so you can blog about anything you want. As I said in my how to deal with self doubt as a blogger post, there are 7 billion people in the world. Someone will like your content! It can be a place to share your fashion, lifestyle tips, travel, photography, cooking, and more! It also is great for keeping memories that you can look back on.

Great Hobby that can be Free

It’s important in life to find something you enjoy doing when you’re not working or in school. Blogging can be a great hobby, and you can do it all for free! Blogger is a platform by Google that allows you to create a blog in minutes, and all you need is an email address. If you want you can buy a design, but they offer free ones that you can customize.

Connect with other creative people

With having a blog comes being able to connect with other creative people. You’ll be able to build relationships with your readers, as well as other bloggers. Over my year of blogging I’ve met online so many amazing people that I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t blogging. It’s great to connect with others, share stories, talk, and support each other.

Helps you Improve your Skills

Believe it of not, blogging can be a great way to help you improve some of your skills. Over the course of blogging my photography skills and knowledge has grown, I’ve gotten better at commenting online, my writing has improved, and my email skills improved. It can be a great place to improve everyday and work skills, without the pressure.

It could lead to your future career

Now blogging might not become your full time job (although it could), but it can help you figure out your passions in life. You may discover you like writing and want to work for a magazine or be a journalist. Or you may discover you like photography and pursue that. Or you may want to work in fashion or for a lifestyle brand. The possibilities are endless, but starting something as a hobby is a great way to discover what you’re passionate about. And having a blog doesn’t hurt.

And those are 5 reasons why you should start your blog today. If you’ve been thinking about creating one, there is no better time than the present. Just stick true to yourself, create posts that make you happy, and remember that there is always room for another blogger in the blogging community. Only you can be you, and that is your super power.

I think just going for it and creating a blog was one of the best things I ever did! I never thought I was very creative, but honestly it really challenges you and changes your perception on what you thought was possible xx

I couldn’t agree more with all of these, especially when to comes to improving skills. I’ve actually had a blog (back when I was a teenage “a blog” wasn’t really used, just called it a site) I really had to bump up my game with coding but then I lost it all, BUT THEN when my blog now I had to learn that and more all over again. Coding is my least favourite thing about blogging but it has to be done to get the vision out there lol. Overall blogging makes you see things you didn’t think you had in yourself <3

That’s so funny, coding is one of my favorite parts of blogging! But you’re completely right about it making you see things you didn’t even know about yourself.

So true. I have gained sooo many skills from blogging. There’s a ton of behind the scene things to set up and even daily tasks to maintain a site. And you’ll never learn unless you plunge in and do it! Great post!
