At the end of November the first post in my new series love your wardrobe went up and I am so grateful for all the positive responses! I hope this series continues to inspire you to not feel pressured to buy new things all the time, and to find a new love for what already is in your wardrobe. Since winter is in full swing and I have a love for anything outerwear, today I’m going to share a look at my top 5 coats in my closet!
I got this coat last November on sale from Uniqlo and I love how it’s basically a cross between a coat and a cardigan. It’s perfect for throwing on on slightly chillier days. And the overall colors of the fabric are unlike anything I own, making it one of my favorites.
This berry coat from ASOS was a sale purchase of mine in 2016, and I still love it just was much as I did the first day I got it. I wanted a colored coat to add to my wardrobe and I loved how this one had a blazer vibe to it. It’s oversized (if you couldn’t tell I love oversized items), and the color is absolutely beautiful. It goes perfect with an all black outfit.
In December of 2016 while on a trip to Charleston I found this coat on sale at H&M. It was love at first sight, and I was happy to add a patterned coat to my wardrobe. It really helps dress up my casual wardrobe.
This jacket has been the best coat purchase I’ve ever made. And by me, I mean my mom. In December my mom ordered this coat online and got it in two sizes. So when she decided on the other size, she so kindly offered this one to me. And it’s been saving me through this extremely cold winter. If you have one coat in your closet, make sure it will keep you extremely warm in the winter if you live somewhere cold. My favorite feature of this one is it has a thick inside lining that you can remove so you can wear the coat in spring! And the patches on the elbows are a lovely touch.
This coat is one of the more minimal ones in the wardrobe. But the main reason this is my favorite coat is because it was the best sale purchase I have ever made. I found it in H&M when I went in there looking for one in the same style, and it was on sale for $10! I still to this day can’t believe that I managed to find it for that price. It is a few sizes too big for me, but I love the oversized look and how it can give a classic, dressy vibe to any outfit. The only downside is it collects lint no matter how many times I use a lint-roller. My favorite item to wear it with is any pair of sneakers, especially my slip on Vans.
And those are the top 5 coats in my wardrobe. I’ve linked a few similar ones incase you’re in the market for a new one. But remember to love what you already own, and I’d love to know what your favorite coat in your wardrobe is!
