Products That Saved My Skin This Winter

Although my skin is more on the combination/oily side most of the time, when winter hits it becomes dry. I’ve tried countless products, both drugstore and high end, on my skin to figure out what worked best. Luckily I’ve put together a skincare routine that I love and can see myself using for years to come. So I thought I would share with you the products that saved my skin (both face and body) this winter that may help your skin too!

St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub & Mask

Last year I discovered St. Ives skincare and it’s been one of my favorite brands yet. The Oatmeal Scrub and Mask is the perfect product for giving my skin extra moisture. I use it every night in the shower as a face cleaner, and once a week I apply it as a mask. This has been the number one product that has really saved my skin this winter.

St. Ives Green Tea Scrub

I use this product every night to help smooth out my skin and get rid of any blackheads. Although it hasn’t removed all of my blackheads (lets be honest-nothing ever will), but it definitely does help smooth and clear up my skin. Using this every night with the oatmeal scrub has been the perfect combo for my skin.

RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream

This has been one of the best skincare purchases I’ve ever made. I use this at night to take off my makeup, as well in the morning to clean my face. I was afraid of trying coconut oil in case it broke me out, but it surprisingly didn’t. It’s all natural which I love, and the smell is amazing.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer

Last year I was using the Glossier Priming Moisturizer, which I still love, but I found I needed something that hydrated my skin more with SPF. I’ve been using Cetaphil products since I was a child so it seemed like the best choice to try their moisturizer, and I’m so glad I did. It’s affordable, keeps my skin moisturized in these cold winter months without making it greasy, and has SPF which is always a plus.

Lush Sleepy Hand & Body Lotion

When it comes to skincare, it’s not just for the face but for the body too. Like most people the skin on my body gets dry in the colder months. I always had an issue with finding a lotion that wasn’t too greasy or sticky after using. The Lush Sleepy lotion has been amazing this winter. Not only is the lavender smell so good, it moisturizes my body without feeling like I’m wearing too much lotion. I use this before bed every night and wake up with smooth skin.

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Body Wash

Usually I don’t think there is too much of a difference when it comes to body wash, but boy did this product prove me wrong. This past year Bath & Body Works came out with a new aromatherapy line and it’s the best thing they’ve ever created in my opinion. Not only do they have amazing scents to choose from (my two favorites are sleep and comfort), but the essentials oils help leave my skin feeling amazing after a shower. It is a bit on the pricer side, but if you wait for when they have a sale it is worth it.

And that is a look at the skincare products I’ve been using for winter! I hope these products help, and let me know if you’ve tried any of them and what you’re go-to winter skincare product is.

  1. This winter I discovered a brand: Rexaline! I love their creme. It’s my skin savior! I have combination skin (more to the oily side in summer) but in winter my skin turns dry (same as you) so I understand the struggle to find good products:) xx

Lovely post Kara! It’s also the best when you finally found a routine for your skin! The RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream sounds so good so I’ll need to add that to my list since I’m always up for trying out a new moisturizer. I also love the Cteaphil Moisturizer as well, but I went and tried out the CeraVe one instead and I love it more. They have an AM (with SPF) and PM one as well which I thought was cool.

Thank you Stacey! I’ll have to give the CeraVe one a try because I love the sound of an AM and PM one x

  3. These products sound brilliant and I love the photos – they stand out so perfectly against your wallpaper! I’ll definitely be giving these a go as my skin often gets dry in winter.

Aw thank you Heather! It’s actually my shower curtain that I taped to the wall, but I’m glad it can pass as wallpaper! I hope the products help x

I love the St Ives apricot scrub. It does a really good job at exfoliating and does not leave the skin feeling dry. The bath and body works body wash seems interesting and I love the minimal packaging.

St. Ives is simply purity and being natural. It is no surprise it was effective. Just be careful trying new stuff for your skin.
