8 Things You Should Do Every Week

Lets be honest, life can be stressful and beautiful all at the same time. We often as humans are always doing something that we forget to do the more important daily things in life. For this month’s positivity project post, I’m going to be sharing 8 things you should do every week. And by “should”, I mean recommended but not required.

1 Clean Your space.

Often times this is easier said than done, but making it a habit of cleaning your space at least once a week is important. Too much clutter results in stress, which is never good. Spend a day organizing your space and giving it the cleaning it deserves. Change your sheets, do some laundry, give your floor the vacuuming it needs, and anything else that needs to be done. You’ll feel much better waking up every morning to a cleaner space.

2 Eat Good Meals & drink plenty of water.

Food and water is what fuels your body and allows you to keep going, so make sure to make this a priority throughout your week. Make yourself some of your favorite meals, pack snacks when you’re leaving the house, and make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. You’ll feel more awake and energized, and your body will thank you.

3 Get some fresh air.

Nothing helps clear the mind like getting out of the house/office and getting some fresh air. Try to get at least 30 minutes of fresh air every day. You can either go for a walk, or if you can simply move your workspace outside for a little bit.

4 Set aside time for you to do nothing / self care.

As humans we are almost always doing something. But sometimes your brain just needs to simply do nothing. Set at least one evening a week to do much of nothing and look after yourself. You can meditate, have a self care evening of pampering yourself, or just sit and reflect on your week and thoughts. Give your brain time to recharge.

5 Set aside time for friends and family.

With work and social media we’ve slowly started becoming less social with the ones in our lives. Set aside some time each week to spend time with friends or family. You can go out for dinner, have a night in, or if they’re not near you give them a call. Just make sure to set your phone and work aside, and be 100% present.

6 Tell yourself positive affirmations.

A lot of people’s success in life comes from their mindset. If you are consistently putting yourself down in your mind you’ll never reach where you want to be in life. Now this will take time, but start each morning by saying something positive to yourself in the mirror. It can be out loud or in your head, but give yourself words of encouragement and know that you can do anything you put your mind to.

7 Do something out of your comfort zone.

The quote “life starts outside of your comfort zone” is a great quote because it’s true! Although you should be comfortable in life, sometimes we fall into the same routine and never leave it. You should never do something that your gut tells you not to, but try each week to do something that is a little out of your comfort zone that will benefit you in the long run.

8 Have a cry.

Now this may not happen every week, but when you feel like you need it – have a cry! It’s so important not to hold everything in and it’s okay to not be okay. Most times after crying you’ll feel a bit better, and it will tire you out for hopefully a good nights sleep.

These are all helpful tips! I’ve made it a point to take better care of myself and always squeeze in me time. The idea of affirmations is something I need to work on and would probably really benefit from it a lot too. Crying is also important. Many of us think because we’re all adults now we need to stop showing these types of emotions, but they apart of being human and we’re built to feel things and act towards them.

I’m glad you liked the tips, Stacey! Me time is so important and honestly such a easy way to look after yourself. And you are so right about us thinking since we are adults we shouldn’t be showing those emotions, which couldn’t be further from the truth x

I totally agree. Everyone’s busy all the time but it’s important to make time to nurture relationships with those who are important to you and not take them for granted. It’s good to cry to let go of negative emotions and it’s important for you to express yourself, even if it means crying. It does not make you weak at all, it makes you human.

This post was pleasant to read. I enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Very true and wise words! Crying doesn’t make you weak is something I’ve had to learn over the years, but it definitely makes us human. I’m glad you enjoyed reading it! x
