My favorite season Fall is slowly coming around the corner, and that means starting to think more about fall fashion. I’ve always been someone who tries to wear items I love all year round, which has influenced what items I buy. I’ve come to realize that most of my favorite types of clothing pieces can be worn in both seasons, so I thought I would share my 5 favorite fashion items for the summer to fall time!
Bandanas have been everywhere this year, and I’m so happy about this because I love them so much! They are a perfect, inexpensive way to change up an outfit you’ve worn many times. I love wearing them around my neck for an added pop of color to a neutral outfit, but they also work great as a hair accessory or tied on a purse.
My favorite place to buy bandanas is Madewell! Their bandanas feel like a dream and the different color and design choices are perfect for picking what fits your personal style. I have been loving red this year so it’s no surprise I picked this red designone. I’ve also gotten some from Target and Aerie that I really like too.
Button Down Blouses
I love button down blouses any time of the year, but especially in the months from summer to fall because they can be styled many different ways. They look great tucked into high waisted denim shorts and sandals for the summer. For the cooler months wearing them tucked into jeans with loafers or sneakers is a favorite outfit of mine. And you can even wear them layered under sweaters when it starts getting colder out.
This striped collared button down blouse is from an online boutique and is sadly sold out, but my absolute favorite place for these types of blouses is Uniqlo! I have their rayon collared button down blouse in 3 different colors now, and they are the perfect wardrobe staple. Not only are they easy to style and don’t shrink in the wash, but at $20 you can’t beat the amazing quality or price.
During the early summer months smaller cross body bags are my go-to, but as it starts cooling off I tend to love carrying bigger bags with me. This way I can fit a light jacket in there for the evenings or colder places, but still carry my other belongings too. My two favorite styles of larger bags are tote bags and backpack purses. Tote bags are great for any day, but I especially love backpack purses for busy, on the go days where having your hands free is a big help.
Good Fitting Denim
Denim that fits you well and makes you feel good is a must for any time of the year, but I do love wearing it no matter how hot it is. Denim shorts are my favorite for the summer time (this pair from Zara has been the only pair I’ve worn this year), and I love wearing jeans rolled up for the slightly cooler month.
With denim it’s all about finding the right style and fit for you. For me when it comes to denim, it will always be high waisted. My favorite jeans of all time are the ASOS Farleigh high waisted mom jeans. If you haven’t tried them I highly recommend them, although size up on the length since they will shrink the first time you wash them.
And last but not least are light jackets! Since evenings tend to get cooler during the end of summer and most places tend to feel like you’re in an icebox, I always leave my house with a light jacket. My favorite kinds are denim jackets, rain jackets, “leather” jackets, and knit cardigans. Uniqlo and Target are my two favorite places to buy these kinds of jackets!
And those are my 5 favorite fashion items for the summer to fall time! I’m super excited for the cooler weather to come, and to be able to share more fall outfits in the future. What item is your must have for these in-between season months?
