October Round Up 2018 + OOTD

October is one of my favorite months out of the year and I’m a little sad that it has come to an end. The leaves have finally started to change colors, I celebrated turning another year older, and the cooler weather has overall made me even happier. It was a wonderful month, so here is a round-up of October with everything from my what I loved to favorite photos + this fall layered outfit!

With October came plenty of fall outfit photos included in my blog post! Here are the posts that went up this month:

With it feeling more and more like fall, I’ve started adding more of a cozy vibe to my photos and I love how they are turning out. Here are some of my favorite photos from October:

A cozy morning reading a new book.

This beautiful pink/purple sky is from right after a hurricane came through.

For my birthday I spent it in this magical place, and I honestly still can’t get over how beautiful it is there.

A look at my workspace, with my new obsession of candles.

I’ve been sharing more daily outfits on my Instagram and this one is my favorite so far!

Going on hikes.

It’s always good to get your body moving and my favorite way of doing this has been hiking. Now that it is cooler out I’ve gone on a few hikes this month and it has just been so nice to get outside.

Listening to classical, instrumental movie music while working.

If I could only listen to one kind of music for the rest of my life, it would be classical music. When it comes to doing work I can’t listen to any music with words in it since it tends to distract me. Usually, I’ll listen to some classical music, but this month I’ve been listening to instrumental music from movies. One of the best parts of movies is how the music can transform a scene, and listening to that music has made working a little more enjoyable. My favorite ones I’ve found so far are both from the Harry Potter movies. This one is 30 minutes and this one is over an hour of songs from all the movies

Trying new recipes.

I talked about in my things I’m trying and changing for the rest of the year post how I wanted to try new recipes, and I’ve been doing just that! These past 2 weeks each Sunday I’ve cooked a new meal to try for dinner, and both have turned out to be new favorites of mine. You can see what each recipe looked like in my saved Instagram story under “October”. The three I tried were this roasted tomato soup recipe, garlic noodles recipe (the best noodles I’ve ever tasted), and I baked these cinnamon sugar knots. This time of year always inspires me to bake and cook, and I can’t wait to try some more recipes these next 2 months.

Turning 22 has made me realize how even though I am technically an adult, it’s 100% okay to not have everything figured out. I’m learning to accept more and more that I can’t plan everything, and to learn to just love how unpredictable life can be since it will all work out in the end. Everything gets easier the more you do it, and the same goes for life.

This fall and winter I can already tell my favorite outfit will be layering a sweater over a dress. Skirts are not a huge wardrobe favorite of mine, so this gives me that look without having to buy one. This green turtleneck from H&M is my favorite sweater in my closet, and luckily this year I found a similar style one in gray that I’m excited to wear soon. The polka dot dress from Monki was a last minute sale purchase of mine and it’s already become one of my best purchases. I just love how comfortable this outfit is.

And that is a round-up of October! I hope you have a wonderful November, and I’d love to know what your favorite thing from this past month was!
