January Round Up + What I’ve Learned This Month

The first month of 2019 is almost over! It’s hard to believe one month is already done, although at the same time the first month always feels like the longest one. January has been a month of very cold weather, setting goals, and trying to balance it all. So here is a round up of the month with some of my favorites, what I’ve learned this month, + an outfit with one of my new favorite coats!

I realized it had been a while since my last blogging tips post, so this month has 2 new ones + many more lifestyle + fashion posts!

Into You by Julia Michaels: The one way I judge if I really love a song is if I buy it, which happens very rarely. But this month the only song I bought was Into You by Julia Michaels. I love the music and vibe of the song, and another song of her’s I’m enjoying is Deep.

Kitchen Nightmares: I cannot believe it has taken me this long to finally watch this show! A clip from an episode of the show was on my YouTube recommended, and it honestly sent me down a 2-hour rabbit hole of watching this show. I always thought it wouldn’t be my cup of tea since it seemed a bit harsh, but it’s just really interesting (and a bit gross) to see how things are in certain restaurants. The hotel version of this show is a favorite of mine too!

On my last monthly round-up post, I asked if I should continue doing them or share what I’ve learned each month instead. After the positive feedback on both, I decided to include what I’ve learned in my round-ups from now on! Here is what I’ve learned this January:

You no longer are the same person you were at the start of the month. We continue to change and grow each day.

Winter months are the time to stay indoors and work hard towards your goals.

Starting something new is both equal parts scary and exciting. Although the excitement always outweighs the fear.

Remembering to talk on Instagram stories is hard. I set myself a goal to talk on there every week but I’ve decided to just try for every once and awhile.

In December I was thinking of buying a new coat or two, and at the same time ASOS was having a sale on them so I figured it was meant to be. This long checked one caught my eye because I love the subtle hint of red in it. It’s really warm and I love wearing it with simple outfits to dress them up a bit. It actually is loved so much that my mom has started wearing it more than I have. Sweaters are pretty much all I wear now with the cold, and this red one from Zara is one I reach for a lot.

And that is a look at January! I hope you all had a wonderful first month of 2019, and I’d love to know how your January went!

Your outfit is beautiful. I love how the red sweater matches the hints of red in the coat. It really brings the look together.

I know what you mean about the first month of the year feeling really long. I think it’s supposed to be the hardest month of the year to get through because of the gloomy weather and the fact that the holidays are over.

I hope you have a great February.
