Two weeks ago I posted photos from the first part of my trip this summer (you can read it here), and the second part of my trip was my favorite! I went back to a place I love and discovered what might possibly be my favorite national park. So make yourself comfortable, and here is a look at my trip to Mount Rainier + Olympic National Park!
Mount Rainier was originally just a park we were visiting because Olympic was too far of a drive from Crater Lake. But it ended up becoming one of my favorite parks! There’s just something so magical about hiking through enchanted looking forests, getting lost along the way, and being able to see Mount Rainier no matter where you are.
The perfect morning breakfast spot with a bouquet of wildflowers.
The cutest little hotel that made it feel like we were in the Swiss Alps.
The Olympic Peninsula is one of my favorite places in the US. There’s just something about the atmosphere there that feels a bit like home. The last time I was here we didn’t end up going into the park, so it was nice to hike around there this time. For the first few days we stayed at the cutest little lake house that I didn’t want to leave, and then a house on the beach.
The interior of the lake house was so cozy.
And that is a look at my summer trip this year! I highly suggest visiting national parks if you can. There’s nothing better than being surrounded by nature.
Omg everything does look like such a magical place and I love the interior of the lake house! As always, love your photos!

Mount Rainer looks like such a beautiful place to visit. Its peak is stunning. Great photography…that hotel you photographed does looks like it was placed someplace in the Swiss Alps!
I really like the Olympic Park. It looks stunning. I can see why it is one of your fav places in the US. Really, there are so many gorgeous national parks in USA. I actually read a book about USA National Parks (by National Geographic) earlier this year. Olympic Park seems like such a great place to visit. So great that you got to stay in the lake house. It looks so cozy.
Kara these photos are stunning! You have a way of capturing places that transports me right there! These places are all definitely written down for my bucket travel list. I want to try and visit as many National Parks as I can.
Just so beautiful Kara! Thanks so much for sharing!
This post couldn’t come at a better time. We are planning our trip next year to Mt. Rainer and Olympic national parks! We are doing 2 days in Mt. Rainer and 3 in Olympic National park. We are ending the trip in the San Juan Islands. Can’t wait to show these pics to my hubby. Thanks for sharing my friend!

Firstly, you should do a post on cute outfits while traveling! I feel like if I was doing all of this all-terrain exploring I wouldn’t look half as cute, haha! Secondly, this trip really does look magical. My favorite photo has to be the one of the couple (your parents?) on the foggy beach. Breathtaking!

These photos are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I have a personal goal of visiting all the national parks in the states and provincial parks up here in canada (slowly, slowly working to that goal haha!), and Mt. Ranier is next on my list, along with Yosemite and Glacier. Seeing these photos always gets me extra excited to travel there and be even more awestruck in person!!!

It is so cool that you got to check out Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park! The pictures look GORGEOUS! I love how green the place is- especially when you feel like you’re in a whole different place compared to the city. So cool to still see snow! I am glad you had so much fun visiting these two places!

Looking through the pictures were so therapeutic and it brought a sense of serenity to my mind. If I already feel this way just reading through the post, then I can just imagine what it might have been like to be there in person. Seems like you had a wonderful time soaking up nature and taking a break from the city hustle. I wish I was in your shoes for just a moment! This has actually inspired me to go camping at the park now… – http://www.jamilakyari.com
I’d never have thought to visit somewhere like this, but my gosh it looks so beautiful. Definitely added both to my bucket list, as both look so dreamy xx
