This time of year always makes me feel more energized and motivated. Maybe it’s the start of cooler weather or the forever ingrained in me feeling of back to school season. But it really is the perfect time of year to get back into a routine and accomplish your goals. Here are a few tips for being productive this Fall!
One of the best things to do to stay on top of everything is to create daily to-do lists. I have been doing this for years and it makes remembering everything I need to get done a lot easier. But it’s important to not feel that you have to complete everything on it. Just think of it as a rough outline of your day. Things will change and all that matters is you complete what is really important.
It is so important to give yourself time off every once and awhile. If you burn yourself out you will end up getting nothing done. Give yourself some time each day to relax and do something that you enjoy, even if that is doing nothing. Or if you can, give yourself one day a week that you focus on yourself and the space around you. I personally like to give myself Sunday’s to clean, do laundry, and take things a bit slow.
One thing that really helps in being productive is to be excited to complete a task. It’s not easy, but finding the excitement in the simple things in life makes a big difference. Everything from making your morning coffee to getting some work done. We are lucky to be able to live each day and sometimes that is the perfect motivation.
To be the most productive it really is best to prioritize what you really need to get done. This is one of the hardest things for me because I tend to get a bit sidetracked doing small tasks that don’t need to be done right away. Start your day getting the big, important tasks checked off your to-do list first instead of waiting until later.
