Decorating is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. But it can get a bit overwhelming with how much there is to do and with the pressure to decorate and celebrate a certain way. These past few years I have started focusing on keeping everything more simple and to just add a few Christmas touches to my space. It’s more about adding a few decor pieces and less about decorating. If it can all be a little overwhelming for you too or you just want to keep things simple this year, here are a few of my favorite simple Christmas decor touches you can add to your space!
A small wreath or garland is perfect for adding some greenery indoors. You can even make your own using what you have in your own backyard or with the extra pieces from your Christmas tree.
One thing about Christmas decorations that I am not a fan of is how glittery everything is. These green trees are a great touch if you want something festive without the glitter. If you do want a little bit of glittery then I suggest giving Target a try!
There’s just something about mini houses that is just really cute and they seem to be everywhere recently. They are great for putting on your mantle, on bookcases, or making your own mini Christmas village.
One of my favorite decor pieces is simple Christmas banners. They are great for hanging on the fireplace or over your bed to add a little bit of festive cheer.
Instead of buying pillows that scream Christmas, try adding a few pillows or blankets that have a festive vibe. Think plaids, dark reds, greens, navy blue, whites, and grey. This way you can still use them during the rest of winter and it adds a bit more coziness to your space.
Even though they aren’t necessarily the most festive item, I love adding more candles around my space in December. My favorite scents are a subtle Christmas tree scent that isn’t too sweet or a simple vanilla candle. Add a few unscented candles too to make everything a bit cozier.
Perfect for adding some coziness to your space at night. I usually get mine from the 1-10 dollar section at Target.
I hope this gave you some inspiration for making your space feel more cozy and Christmasy during this time of year! Don’t feel that you have to buy something or that you have to decorate for Christmas in a certain way. This time of year is all about doing what is best and feels right for you.
