The Little Things In Life

As cliché as it is, my favorite things in life often tend to be the little things, especially now more than ever. Here are a few of my favorite little things from the past few weeks:

– Morning walks, feeling the cold morning breeze and watching the sunrise peeking through the clouds and trees.

– Quiet afternoons working in the dining room; the sun shining through the blinds, and feeling grateful for the little part of my routine that has stayed the same.

– Fresh homemade bread as a late-night treat.

– The view out my bathroom window that I get to look at every morning while getting ready.

– Homemade lattes with frothed milk to start the day.

– Evenings staying up late in bed, reading a good book that I can’t put down until my eyelids refuse to stay open any longer.

– Spending late afternoons sitting out in the yard chatting with my mom, soaking in all the sunshine. She says I’m like a plant, and she is 100% right.

– The smell of chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven.

– Listening to the birds’ chirp in the late morning while walking my dog; watching her run through the slightly overgrown grass, not a care in the world.

– Those few moments of quiet, where for a moment you forget about everything.

What are your favorite little things from the past few weeks?

It really is the little things in life that can bring so much daily joy. I think its wonderful that you recogise this at such a young age, hold on to that Kara as it will continue to bring you happiness. Your routine sounds perfect too, getting out in the fresh air in that lovely setting is food for your soul! xx

‘Those few moments of quiet, where for a moment you forget about everything.’ -I love this the most! I feel that when we stop and pause in our thoughts and just observe everything around us, we momentarily forget the complex details of life and appreciate what we have.

    I love your blog, Kara!

I agree with you. For me, it’s watching the sunrise, waking up early enough to enjoy my me time. Reading is a big plus too since its a getaway no matter where you are. I hope you are staying healthy and well. Wishing you a great Thursday!

This is lovely! I can relate to a lot of the little things on your list. Thinking about those every day can only make us so grateful to be where we are and give us perspective. Some of my favourite little things are waking up to sunshine outside, having breakfast in the garden, watching Netlix all bundled up in bed… So grateful for this little home routine!
    Have a wonderful weekend 🙂

I’ll have to say the the thing I appreciate this most about everything right now in the world is the ability to connect to community – family and friends especially. I have been so grateful for the people in my life and I long for a time when this social distancing will be over.

  13. It really is the small things in life that give us so much. It’s interesting to see the majority of the population now appreciating such things after such extreme conditions we’re all currently facing. I’ve always loved watching clouds, or just looking up to the sky. There’s such a comfort for me, I can’t explain it.
